Who knew that a penchant for baking with his grandmother would lead to Chris Knight owning not one, but two, brick and mortar cookie shops at just age 19?

During the COVID-19 lockdown, when most social activities were restricted, Chris’ parents encouraged him to spend his time doing something productive. Naturally, he turned to what he loved most – baking. He first started by baking batches of cookies for his parents, whose rave reviews boosted his confidence, and, before long, he was selling his cookies at school and online. As the demand grew, Chris was able to save half the funds necessary to open his first storefront in Williamsburg, Virginia, with his parents covering the other half. Moving from his mother’s kitchen to his own bakery, he quickly went from baking 400 to 500 cookies in a week to 500 per day at his new location.

Guided by the mantra his parents instilled in him - “if you work hard at it, pray at it, it can happen” – Chris has turned his passion into a thriving business venture. Just two years after the opening of his first storefront, Chris has expanded his business, opening his second location of Cookie Chris in Richmond, Virginia, closer to where his grandma lives.

Maintaining a 4.0GPA as a full-time student at Morehouse College in Atlanta has not slowed his creativity in the kitchen. Each week, Cookie Chris features new cookie flavors, with some of the most popular ones being Oreo, Birthday Cake, Peanut Butter, Fruity Pebbles and M&M. Freshly-baked and “handmade with love”, Chris offers local delivery anywhere within a 10-mile radius of the shop, as well as nationwide delivery, so no matter where you are, you can indulge in these sweet treats.
