The Black and woman-owned brand kicked off Black History Month with a history-making collaboration between National Vision, Inc., the nation's second-largest optical retailer. Together, they're launching an exclusive frame collection in honor of Black History Month.
The limited-edition "Official by Vontélle" frames will grace the shelves of over 900 America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses stores nationwide, marking a historic moment as Vontélle frames become available in a major retail chain for the first time.
This release isn't just about stylish eyewear; it's about accessibility and representation. The collection offers a unique opportunity for eyeglass wearers to support a burgeoning Black-owned business while enjoying Vontélle's signature better-fitting frames. Crafted with care, these frames are designed to compliment diverse faces, featuring wider nose bridges, longer temples, and larger lenses for maximum comfort and style.
“The fit and style of glasses are just as important as the lenses within them," remarks Megan Molony, Senior Vice President at National Vision. "Glasses are not meant to hide who you are and should instead be a reflection and celebration of everything that makes you unique."
The "Official by Vontélle" collection includes 15 vibrant frames for both men and women, each named after notable African American figures who've left an indelible mark on history across various fields.
Vontélle's co-founders, both HBCU alumnae, are passionate about infusing their cultural heritage into their designs. Tracy Green, co-founder of Vontélle, expresses her excitement about reaching a broader audience through this collaboration, saying, "Our products are designed to celebrate our cultural history, and we are so excited to make our frames available to even more customers through this Official collection with America’s Best."
From February 1st onwards, customers can snag their own pair of "Official by Vontélle" frames at any of the 900+ America’s Best retail locations or online, but hurry – these exclusive frames won't last long!
