Married for 32 years, Patrick, the company’s CFO, and Carla, the CEO and culinary maestro, have blended their love for food, family, and community to create Sweet Potato Jones. The business was born out of the numerous requests that poured in after Patrick’s 40th birthday party, which Carla planned. What started as a passion soon evolved into a full-blown side hustle. From intimate dinner parties and birthdays to grand corporate events and weddings, Sweet Potato Jones combines the art of fine dining with the science of event planning to create memorable moments for you and your guests.
Entrepreneurship in the Jones family seems to be the norm, making “keeping up with the Joneses” something truly inspiring. Their son, Patrick “PJ” Jones II is the CEO of Applesauce and Crackers, a pajama clothing line. Ryan Jones owns a braiding hair line, XclusiveLeigh. And Amber Jones is a private chef as well as the Head Chef at Sweet Potato Jones. With an Associate degree in Applied Science from the Culinary Arts Program at Central Piedmont Community College, Amber is helping to serve up some of Charlotte’s most memorable meals and experiences, fueled by the joy she feels from seeing people experience different cuisines.
Specializing in everyday gourmet foods, Sweet Potato Jones offers various menu options, which include vegetarian selections, and allows customers to make special requests. In 2024, the company completed 150 meal preps, 66 drop off caterings and 21 weddings and this year they plan to double that. With over a decade of commitment to good food and company, Sweet Potato Jones is bringing soulful, delicious and high-quality cuisine to tables across the region.
