In 2017, Iman Abuzeid founded Incredible Health in an attempt to address the nursing shortage faced by American hospitals, which has resulted in burnout, frustration, and stress among healthcare professionals. Through Incredible Health, she is connecting qualified nurses with hospitals and cutting the hiring process down from the 90-day national average to 20 days. With a focus on permanently filling positions, Incredible Health features custom-matching technology, making it a more personal experience for both nurses and hospitals. Since its inception, Incredible Health has achieved a number of significant milestones and, today, is used by over 350 hospitals nationwide, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins. The company is also harnessing Artificial Intelligence to help change the way in which nurses are able to access various opportunities and get hired.

In 2022, Dr. Abuzeid joined a handful of Black female entrepreneurs who run companies valued at more than $1 billion. Raising $80 million from private investors, it was announced that Incredible Health had officially hit unicorn status, with a valuation of $1.65 billion, making it the “highest-valued tech-enabled healthcare career marketplace.” With 1 in 4 nurses across the United States using Incredible Health for planning and managing their careers, the company has solidified its ranking as the fastest-growing healthcare labor marketplace in the U.S.

The cash injection received from investors was crucial in enabling Incredible Health’s ability to level the playing field for health care professionals nationwide. With less than 3% of venture-capital funding being given to female founders, and even less to female founders of color, Dr. Iman Abuzeid is cognizant of her remarkable achievement. In an interview with Forbes, she expressed her hope that she would be the “proof point” for those who doubt what can be done.

“It's probably not a good idea to overlook female CEOs or Black CEOs. Because they're driving an enormous amount of value in business.”- Dr. Iman Abuzeid
