2026 is in full swing, and your calendar is likely already filling up. Whether you’re mapping out travel plans, networking, or simply deciding where you want to be intentional with your time and dollars, there are a number of Black festivals and conferences that deserve a place on your radar. These festivals are more than just entertainment. They are economic engines, cultural incubators, and spaces where Blackness is not just highlighted but celebrated and embraced.
As you make your plans for 2026, think beyond attendance. Think alignment. Where do you want to show up? Where do you want to invest? Where do you want to build relationships? From Cape Town to Grenada, Accra to New Orleans, these festivals represent the global ecosystem of Black joy, Black art, Black power and Black history. They are invitations to celebrate, collaborate, invest and build.
Afro Wine Week
Nov 7 - 13, 2026 | Cape Town, South Africa
Geared towards investors, entrepreneurs and wine professionals building the future of wine, Afro Wine Week is designed with intention. One of its core goals is to address the challenges and opportunities faced by people of color in the industry. This year, the experience will include tours, panel discussions, think tanks, exclusive tastings and a culinary crawl. The organizers will also facilitate meetings between brand owners, investors and distributors to allow attendees to secure future partnerships.

Black Yacht Weekend
June 18 - 21 | Chicago, Illinois
If you are a boat enthusiast, this is for you. Launched in 2020, Black Yacht Weeknd is a multi-day experience designed for building connections, increasing visibility and economic opportunity, amplifying Black-owned businesses and creators and celebrating culture. The weekend includes live performances, curated day and night experiences, networking mixers and dinners, Juneteenth celebrations and brand activations.
The Family Reunion
August | Middleburg, Virginia
Curated by Chef Kwame Onwuachi, in collaboration with Sheila Johnson’s Salamander Collection, the Family Reunion is an annual multi-day event that transcends culinary boundaries. It blends thought-provoking panel discussions, topical cooking demonstrations and daily “family” meals designed for interaction between attendees and celebrity participants. Its aim is to celebrate and nurture racial and ethnic diversity within the next generation of hospitality professionals. Although the exact date for 2026 has yet to be announced, keep this one on your radar.
CultureCon
October 4 - 5 | New York City
CultureCon is the premier conference for creatives, young professionals and cultural influencers. This one-of-a-kind, immersive two-day gathering brings together dynamic voices and visionary leaders for hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and high-impact networking opportunities. Past conferences have featured influential speakers including Issa Rae, Taraji P. Henson, Spike Lee, Michelle Obama, Billy Porter and many more trailblazers who are shaping culture today.
Essence Festival
July 3 - 5 | New Orleans, Louisiana
Essence Festival is returning this year for a three-day weekend of cultural celebration that spans health & wellness, spirituality, beauty & style, food, entertainment and entrepreneurship. It is famous for its nonstop live music that features some of the best in R&B, soul, funk, gospel and hip hop. Although we are still awaiting an announcement on this year’s lineup, some of the past headliners have included Boyz II Men, Maxwell, Nas, and The Isley Brothers.

AfroFuture Festival
December | Accra, Ghana
Formerly known as Afrochella, AfroFuture Festival will return to Ghana later this year. This festival is a celebration of African culture, music, art, fashion, and more. Held against the high energy of Detty December, AfroFuture invites the diaspora home, creating space for collaboration between creatives, investors and innovators across the globe and fostering community engagement. Through installations and curated events and experiences, attendees have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Ghanaian culture while also exploring its history.
American Black Film Festival
May 27-31 | Miami, Florida
Since 1997, the American Black Film Festival has been the premiere platform for showcasing stories by and about people of African descent. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the festival will take place under the theme Homecoming, with Regina King serving as its ambassador. The multi-day event will feature multiple days of screenings, exclusive parties, panel discussions, master classes, networking opportunities and other star-studded events.
Afro Nation Portugal
July 3-5 | Portimão, Portugal
Afro Nation Portugal kicks off on July 3rd and promises vibes that will flow right through to July 5th. It is one of the biggest Afrobeats festivals, celebrating culture through music, food, art and more. This year, the line up features Burna Boy, Asake, Gunna, Wiz Kid and more. If you’re a food vendor and you want to showcase your flavors, there is an option to apply to secure your spot at the festival.
St. Kitts Music Festival
June 25 - 26 | Basseterre, St. Kitts
This year, dance to soca, Afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop, reggae and more in St. Kitts, as you tap in to the energy of the Caribbean. Equal parts vacation and cultural immersion, this festival will bring together both regional and international artists, including Machel Montano, Taurus Riley, Kranium and Kehlani. Described as the place where music meets paradise, the Music Festival feels as restorative as it is electric.

CurlFest
July 25 | New York, NY
What began as a meet up in the park has become the largest natural beauty festival in America. Fully-owned by Black women, it is an empowering space for women and girls of every shade and shape to be celebrated. Here you can expect brand activations, live music, panel discussions, product discovery, and to join many other attendees showing up as their full selves. Tickets are available across multiple tiers, each offering different perks and elevated experiences.
Africa Oyé
June 20-21 | Liverpool, England
Africa Oyé is one Of the UK’s biggest celebrations of African music and culture. since 1992, the festival has been carefully curated as a platform highlighting diversity of African music, culture, foods, and artists. More than 90 stalls offer food, drinks, crafts and fashion from Africa and beyond. Designed as a family-friendly event, there are also free workshops for kids and fair rides. Although this is the first year that Africa Oyé will introduce ticketed entry, organizers are committed to making it affordable and accessible for all.
AfroTech Conference
Nov 2 - 6 | Houston, Texas
Join thousands of like-minded attendees at one of the leading annual events where technology, culture, and innovation converge. Designed for founders, innovators, and professionals, AfroTech is rooted in amplifying cultural innovation and uplifting Black professionals in tech and beyond. This year, the conference will look ahead towards the next 10 years of global Black innovation. The festival welcomes speaker submissions from individuals passionate about the future of tech.
Black Food & Wine Experience
June 18 - 21 | Napa Valley, California
The 9th annual Black Food and Wine Experience is back and promises to be an unforgettable event filled with curated gourmet food, soulful sips, great music, and culture-rich moments. Chef Mimi, the visionary behind the platform, created this gastronomic event to promote diversity in the culinary world. It is a vibrant space that brings Black food and culture together for the most amazing and one-of-a-kind culinary experiences.
Spice Mas
August 1 - 11 | Grenada

Rooted in history, Spice Mas is Grenada’s annual Carnival celebration, offering culture and identity in their most authentic forms. Central to Spice Mas is the Jab Jab, a well known character covered in black oil. It is not just a costume but a representation of the island’s history of resistance and celebration of freedom. From Panorama and Soca Monarch to pretty Mas, J’ouvert, parties and more, it is history in motion and belongs on your calendar this year (and beyond).
